Welcome to the first edition of AIIG's release roundups! There are several newsletters that provide regular roundups, such as Cybercade, Good Game Lobby, and Pixels for Breakfast. But with so many more games to get excited about, this new section will give another window into new games releasing soon.
Hopefully, you find something to wishlist or buy!
Thalassa: Edge of the Abyss (1 August)
Cam's friends and co-workers all perished when their ship, the Thalassa, sank. What happened? Cam dives in to find out, exploring the sunken wreck in this single-player psychological drama. Thalassa: Edge of the Abyss is about loss and grief, framed as you explore underwater locations and find ways to unlock sections of the ship. It looks beautiful and thoughtful—two ingredients that promise a great walking sim.

Thank Goodness You're Here! (1 August)
How does one describe an adventure game about a little yellow salesman slapping the residents of an unhinged Northern English town? Slap your way through tasks and conversations as you help the silly locals, brought to life by a great voice cast. There isn't a serious moment in Thank Goodness You're Here!, not even when you jump out of a 10th-storey window to catch your bus.

Level Zero: Extraction (6 August)
Humanity has hardly even reached space, but we already think it's full of monsters trying to kill us! That sounds like a great location for an ambitious mix of extraction shooter and asymmetrical survival horror. Two-player teams compete against each other to clear out space derelicts for an enormous variety of loot and gear. They must also deal with game creatures and a player-controlled alien monster stalking them. Level Zero: Extraction looks like intense fun.

Eden Genesis (6 August)
Leah is one of many people slowly dying from a disease caused by their cybernetic implants, so she sets out to find some answers. The plot is familiar, but it doesn't matter as long as the game gives life to its cyberpunk world—and Eden Genesis looks like it delivers. It's a high-stakes platforming game but with a twist. Regular players can complete the main storyline, while serious platform ninjas can tackle optional trials and side-quests that open up much more of the game and its locations.

Creatures of Ava (7 August)
Visit the lush and beautiful world of Ava, a place threatened by a mysterious infection called "the withering". There, you will try to fight this menace while saving the local creatures from infection. Visit a variety of stunning ecosystems, exploring the world to uncover its secrets and follow a rich narrative adventure. Creatures of Ava looks incredible with beautifully exotic biomes and creature designs, with around 20 different creatures to tame.

Train Valley World (8 August)
Tycoon games involving trains never go out of style, and Train Valley World is a colourful homage to many of the genre's best titles. Build and manage railroads, connecting mines, factories, and more to keep industry going. There are also interesting and exotic challenges, a level editor, and co-op and competitive multiplayer.

Streets of Rogue 2 (14 August)
Your goal is to overthrow a corrupt president, and you get to do so in a giant procedural world. The developers want to create the most open-ended RPG sandbox experience. Play solo or online with friends in quick games or long epics—how you go about your revolution is completely up to you, but judging by the trailers, it will likely involve a lot of explosions and building a home or two.
(Note: Streets of Rogue 2 has moved its release date to late October. But it's in the video, so it gets a little early coverage.)

Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse (14 August)
Skunkape's remasters of the cult Sam & Max episodic games from Telltale are finally reaching the third and final game of the trilogy. Sam, the lunatic rabbit, has gotten his paws on the Devil's Playhouse, giving him supernatural abilities. His shenanigans are also attracting the attention of intergalactic villains. They have no idea what they're in for in this demented and loved adventure game.

The Precinct (15 August)
Clean up Averno City in The Precinct, a sandbox police game with an Eighties aesthetic and modern third-person gameplay that also feels pretty retro. Deal with dynamically generated cases, from handing out fines to gunfights, car chases, and investigations. If you get into trouble, call for backup in this action-packed "noir thriller".

Dawn of Defiance (15 August)
Classic Greek mythology meets survival game in a familiar setup: you are a warrior sent to an afterlife limbo where you forage, build, and improve your skills and weapons. Play with friends as you expand your presence, build great monuments, fight corrupted creatures, and tackle trials from the Gods. This all sounds vaguely like another survival game involving Vikings. But Dawn of Defiance looks like it can carry that torch.

The Precinct and Train Valley World look amazing! Thank you for the round up!
I liked the demo for Creatures of Ava during the Steam Next Fest. For other games The Crush House is coming out soon, it's definitely worth checking out, you play as the cameraman/producer for a reality tv show that has dark secrets.
